"Ted Lasso" Is Infectious Positivity

This clip is only ONE example of the heart and humor found in Ted Lasso.

[Check here for the trailer and my initial thoughts on the show.]

The Wife and I are up to episode eight in the 10 episode inaugural season of Ted Lasso. And, I have to tell you, I'm trying to relish every. single. one. Holy cow, I love this television program. It's funny, chock full o' heart, and one of the most upbeat TV shows that I've ever watched. Like The Good Place, I just feel good after each episode.

Jason Sudeikis' Ted Lasso is infectiously positive and - despite what his on-screen wife and other characters think - that is the type of infection the world needs right now. Positivity.

For example, this is the show that we turned to for an entertainment palate cleanser after watching the first presidential debate a couple of weeks ago. Why? Well, we needed some good-feels after watching the debate, and Ted Lasso always delivers on that.

In addition to being saccharin-sweet in it's tone, those that are soccer fans will also love the context in which the story takes place. Ted Lasso is the quintessential "fish-out-of-water" story. Lasso is an NCAA Division II football coach that is plucked from obscurity to coach an English Premier League football club: the fictitious AFC Richmond. Despite not knowing many/any of the rules of soccer, Lasso begins to win over the team, and the local Richmond fans. And, as a result, the viewers' hearts.

If you're looking for something that is heart-warming and gives you a good laugh, I highly recommend you check it out. They have just approved a second season of the show, so after I'm done streaming the next few episodes, I'll still have something to look forward to next year.

Ted Lasso is available to stream on Apple TV+.
