"Ted Lasso" Trailer

What do you get when you put soccer, Apple TV+, and Jason Sudekis together? The new series Ted Lasso, and something that I will ABSOLUTELY watch.

Sudeikis originally developed a comedic short for NBC Sports to help promote the network's coverage of the English Premier League. In it, Ted Lasso is a football coach from the United States who is hired to coach the Tottenham Hotspur FC. Here is the original short:

 

Lots of similarities in both videos. 

If you follow along on the Twitter machine, you know that I love soccer (particularly when my son is involved or it highlights an epic nutmeg). I played a bit growing up and, despite the usual American criticism of the game, I love to watch it played - especially when it is played well.

And lastly, Jason Sudekis. 

I have been a fan since his early days on Saturday Night Live (his deadpan delivery in the "Two A-holes" sketches is brilliant), and have thoroughly enjoyed his foray into feature films (see: We're The Millers). 

Ted Lasso premiers on August 14th.
