Friday Afternoon Music: Why RTJ Is Awesome

This is Run The Jewels' "Ooh LA LA" featuring Greg Nice & DJ Premier, off of their just-released album RTJ4.

I have written about RTJ before. Killer Mike and El-P have been getting a lot of airplay in my headphones in the two months since that last post. Some really good stuff.

In the wake of the killing of George Floyd, Killer Mike and El-P released RTJ4 a few days early - and put it up on their website for free with the message, "Pay what you want. All proceeds go to the Mass Deference Program."

However, in case you're unaware, Killer Mike is more than just a fantastic hip-hop lyricist. Check out this video of him speaking pouring out his heart and soul to the press on May 29th (it's an eight-minute clip, but well worth every minute):



These guys have solidified me as a fan - not that it was going to take much to do that.
